Beautiful campground with shady campsites overlooking pristine Hollow Lake. Our campsite was very well maintained. It had water and electric, and the showerhouses were probably the cleanest I have ever seen anywhere. This is the first time I have seen automatic flush toilets at a campsite. There is a great roped off shallow swimming area for kids in the lake. It is a 50 minute scenic drive from Mammoth Cave National Park.
Had a great time here, end of the season so we got our pick of waters edge sites. Had fun kayaking around during the day and taking pictures. Clean, well maintained, and lots of amenities.
Loved that so many sites are shaded, but still have views of the lake. Access to the water is rocky most places, but that comes with the terrain. We enjoyed our stay. Quiet.
I've been going to this campground since I was a baby. Great place to relax, make a fire, fish, and swim. Most sites in c/d/e/f area have nice shade and some privacy.
Excellent place to go camping on the weekends. If you like lots of people. If you don't like lots of people then go during the week. The Ranger comes around often which helps you feel safe. The restrooms are clean and tidy with warm showers. There's Verizon Service but spotty at places. The campgrounds are well taken care of with nice new tables.
